Five
This morning I woke up to a yet another snowy day. This time of the year is the worst in this town, everything is cold and grey. I have always been partial to the warm sunny beach type not the snowy city type. But of course we participate in all of the christmas shenanigans to try and spice up this time of year. Today started off an ordinary day. I woke up, bundled up and headed off to work. The Casa de Waffle had a hot chocolate stand outside so i stopped by there first. I got to work and the inside of the place was covered in lights and christmas decorations. The boss called all of us girls in for a little meeting. Apparently, this year the boss decided that we would participate in the christmas theme. He bought me and all the girls santa and elve costumes. So we all proceeded to put on the costumes and start getting ready for the day. I ran out to get all the girls lunch before our shift started and when I came back the homeless man thats always wandering around town was dressed up like santa and had a bucket and a bell. So i walked inside and asked the boss if he had paid him to stand out there and collect a little extra cash, he said no. I guess the guy just assumed anyone coming into the Cafe would have a little extra cash on hand. The funny thing was that he was not asking for money he was just shouting lines from holiday movies. That night, me and the girls were going about our business, literally; when all of a sudden all of the lights and decorations from the celling fell all at once. I had to leap from the stage into a customers lap just so i didn't get smashed by the plastic reindeer that the boos had hung from the celling. If that wasn't bad enough, when I stood up all the money I had earned that day were gone. The customer had taken all the money I had. So much for holiday season, it almost killed me and robbed me.

Four
So today is going to lead to a very long weekend, due to the fact that I am sitting at home sick as a dog with the flu; thanks to the so called clinic who gave away flu vaccines with dirty needles which lead to me actually having the flu and no medicine. Not only has the whole town come down with the flu we are in the mits of tropical storm force stormes. My building hasn't had power since about three yesterday afternoon. The worst part about it is I still have to work. Power outages and big storms bring a lot of business from the bored and lonely men of the town. Isabella's Cafe is usually the only place in town during big storms that have power, a few years ago they purchased a big generator to keep business going when theres nothing else to do. Casa de Waffle usually brings over what ever the kitchen has to Isabellas and feed us before our power outage shift. I dont think Casa de Waffle can help fix my crummy feeling this morning. My boss said that I could just go for a while but that half his girls have the flu and he needs us in today.
So I went and worked for about three hours, the boss let me go home due to the excessive drunkards he was having to kick out anyway. Today's blackout party was lower than low of the blackout parties. Drunken men, mostly young boys and lonely men, the occasional unexpected guest that just wanted some electricity. The only difference about today is the cafe turned into a farm for the flu, with everyone coughing and sneezing by the end of the day everyone would be sick. The cafe also turned into more of a soup kitchen, people came to get the hot food left by casa de waffle. There was one group of young guys that came in, most likely drunk from the night before since all they had to eat was beer because they obviously cant feed themselves specially during a blackout. Well they came in all together went and tried to steal all the casa de waffle and sleep in the chairs next to the heater. Right before the boss was about to kick them out a guy walked in, the WTF radio host, Devon Tresp. He shouted "time to go fellas" and all of the guys stood up and walked out not saying a word. Devon was obviously the responsible friend in the group, probably the only one with a job. He seemed use to this situation by the way he walked in yelled and they all just listened and left.

Three
This morning I woke up to some commotion outside of my building, apparently the bus broke down in front of the coffee shop. This apparently upset some people, since there was yelling and screaming around 5am, honestly I cant think of what could have possibly happened for someone to argue with the bus driver, who clearly did not break the bus on purpose; loud enough for me to be awakened by it this early in the morning. Now that I had been woken up ever so rudely all I wanted was hot cup of coffee and of course I was out and of course this whole arguing with the bus driver charade was happening at the coffee shop. I decided to take a shower, get dressed and walk to the Casa de Waffle for some breakfast and coffee. I bundled up in a big sweater and scarf due to the last leg of winter chill, fed my fish and took off. As I approach Casa de Waffle I can see that there is already a line out of the door down the sidewalk. Murphy's Law was in effect for my day it seemed, everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Then I saw the sign hanging in the storefront: Free Waffles with Purchase of Coffee. I decided that the wait would be worth the free meal. As I stood in line waiting I could hear the rather strange mix of music that WTF radio was station was playing, a strange choice for a waffle joint but in this town, not so much.

Two
I woke up this morning exhausted from working a double shift, looked in the fridge for my morning pick me up only to find that I was fresh out of Red Bull. Although I didn't have to work today and I planned on spending the day curled up on my cozy couch in apartment 3a. I decided that it was worth it to run to the grocery pick up some more Red Bull and treat my self to a pint of Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. I threw on some shoes and started my walk across the street in my pajamas; it was too early on a sunday morning for anyone of meaning to be out anyways. As I was walking out of the grocery I saw the blind man whose notorious for sitting outside of the clinic, walking from the church to his usual place outside of the clinic. He was humming to himself as usual, he seemed rather happy today, he stopped to talk to me today as we crossed paths and said something that has been on my mind since I got back from the grocery. He said "What will come will come. Even if i shroud it all in silence." It had me thinking, am i meant to stay in this town and be a show girl forever, will i go on to school and make something better of myself, will i meet a man and start a family? Am i really suppose to just wait around for something good to happen? Eh, who knows, so i just sat on my couch watching sappy movies and eating ice cream, escaping from reality.

One.
The day started as a normal, gathering my things from the one bedroom excuse for an apartment that I called home. My morning routine consisted of a quick shower, choice of bikini along with a pair of six inch heels, chugging a red bull, and feeding the goldfish some guy won me at last years fall festival. Then i started my walk to work at Isabella's cafe passing the orphanage I use to call home. Waving at all the children and engaging in a quick conversation with the women from St. Magdalines that watched me grow up, but now probably had no idea that I was one of the show girls at Isabella's cafe. The crowd at Isabella's was the typical crowd, drunken men from the night before along with some early morning usual's enjoying their hot coffee they picked up from the Casa de Waffle across the street. As the day went on, less and less men were coming in. Around lunch time a few of the business men from around town came in to handle deals and such. That night a variety of men came in, high school boys with there fake id's and patchy puberty facial hair silently watching from the corner, old men with nothing better to do then stop by for some entertainment, the high rollers that typically stayed around the longest and paid extra to take home their entertainment. I had never said yes to one of these "extended shifts" but recently I was having second thoughts due to the fact that I have been hoping to enroll myself in school as a way to get out of this town i had never left. Maybe tonight would be the night, but if i was going to do this it would have to be someone special, someone i could trust that I would wake up in the morning and live to see another day. A group of guys walked in, around my age, well dressed, seem like possibly candidates for some extra cash.
